Camp Life

Camp Vista is located in the Northern Kettle Moraine Forest of Wisconsin. The camp occupies approximately 350 acres and has its own small lake. The camp is composed of five dormitory sleeping cabins, each housing twenty campers; a craft cabin; a main lodge and dining room; shower facilities; and an athletic field.

Volunteers staff the camp. They include kitchen staff, male and female counselors, and medical staff. All counselors are CPR certified. Some are EMT’s and First Responders. The medical staff includes nurses that are RNs and LPNs. Professional chefs who are capable of satisfying almost all dietary needs head the kitchen staff. Lifeguards are lakefront certified.

As a part of camp life, you will also be assigned minor chores, which includes dish washing, sweeping and mopping. These are one-time only occurrences. Everyone gets to participate.

On the more pleasant side, you will have the opportunity to make a craft item for your “secret pal”. Swimming or canoeing in Cedar Lake can be quite refreshing on a hot summer day. Sports and games on our athletic field will be a test of your endurance. There will plenty of time for social interaction…conversation, board games, cards etc.

Weather permitting, singing by a bonfire, roasting marshmallows and story telling. As a camper, each country group will have the opportunity to do a short presentation about their country, its demographics and culture.

We will be taking a coach bus trip to Madison, Wisconsin to see our State Capitol and the Wisconsin Lions Eye Bank.  This trip is always a highlight of the week.

Our counselors are always thinking up new things to do. Some are quite imaginative.

We welcome you to our camp and will try to make your stay a very memorable experience!
